The Children’s Choir Augustana is part of the “Sing- und Musikschule Mozartstadt Augsburg” and has been under the direction of Johannes Janeck since September 2022. The aim of the work is, within the scope of possibilities, to offer the children a well-founded, versatile and holistic vocal and musical education and to promote the joy of singing together. The choir’s repertoire consists primarily of two- to four-part works from a wide variety of epochs and styles, sometimes with instrumental accompaniment (in cooperation with other ensembles at the music school, among others), sometimes a cappella. Numerous activities, choir weekends and projects enrich the choir community. In recent years, choir trips have taken the choir to the Czech Republic and Italy, among other places.
