Christiane Fischer studied at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts and the Stuttgart Opera School. At the Federal Academy for Musical Youth Education in Trossingen she completed postgraduate studies in children’s choir conducting. Until 2005 she was department head, singing teacher and director of the Heidelberg Children’s and Youth Choir and artistic director of the Franconian Children’s Choir. In 2006 she took over the direction of the Singschule within the framework of the City of Vienna Music Schools. She founded the Vienna-wide children and youth choirs. Since the foundation of the choirs, Christiane Fischer has worked continuously with the Vienna Children’s Choir on upper voice literature of all epochs and styles. As a conductor, Christiane Fischer also conducts the Christmas Singing in Vienna’s St. Stephen’s Cathedral as well as the traditional annual festive singing in the Vienna Konzerthaus. In addition, she is a speaker at symposia and advanced training courses in Austria, Germany and Italy, she takes on the role of a juror at national and international singing and choral competitions and in expert committees on voice training and choral conducting with children and young people.
